Important Note for changes in the Percussion Audition Procedures:

The percussion audition procedures are changing for the 08-09 school year. 
Full details about these changes can be found in the Audition Packet.  However, please note the following:

  • There are no longer 4 separate auditions. 
    There is one full percussion audition which will require the student to be proficient on all instruments except the mallets. 
    For this audition please have the students prepare the Multiple Percussion Solo and the Timpani Solo.
  • There will also be changes in the required rudiments.  Changes will be listed in the Audition Packet.
  • The mallet auditions will remain the same except that all scales which can be performed
    2 octaves on the Orchestra Bells will be asked to be played that way. 
    Specifics of the scale requirements will be listed in the Audition Packet.
  • Due to these changes, 9th graders will no longer be able to audition for the timpani
    since it will be included with the full percussion audition.
